Entertainment on Delmarva

March 2012

The time change means more outside time, to be sure!  I refilled my bird feeder and watched the squirrels take turns cleaning it out again... sigh!  We have our seeds sprouting on the back porch and are getting the garden beds ready for planing. The Osprey's will be here soon - I can't wait for that.

Day 4 of December and the holiday stress is already starting to get to me. What should I get for Aunt Norma who is 97? Will my daughter bring home the vegetarian boyfriend? And where will he sleep? How can I ship presents to South Africa without breaking the budget? When will I find time to do ever...

Now that the days are shorter and colder, it is harder to get our chores done after work, but Making a fire to rest by between yard work activities is not a bad way to go... An apple cider drink or adult hot cocoa doesn't hurt either!  The heated bistro table comes in handy on these kind of days and there is also something to be said for not having to refrigerate the oysters!

Plenty to do here on Delmarva during the summer, spring and fall. Of course, some of our favorites are sitting on our back deck watching the huge and silent Egrets fly above us heading to (we think) New Jersey???

In the cooler weather a fire or heated bistro table makes it possible to be outside at least 3/4 of the year.

Going out to eat and drink are also good entertainment. Some of our favorite local places where customer service abounds include:

Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats
On The Rocks
Touch of Italy on Second St. in Lewes
Bethany Blues
Green Turtle

Riding bikes is a good way to work off calories - we ride the Junction and Breakwater Trail from Lewes to Rehoboth.

Fishing is one of our favorite outdoor activities. Either in the boat from the Lewes Boat Ramp or from Lewes Beach or Cape Henlopen. Here is a good resource for more fishing information.
